About Me

My name is AJ, and I am learning to cook out here in Denver, Colorado. I have a whole lot to learn but I keep on trying!

I always loved to cook, but pretty much winged it. Then I met Sam. Since then, I have had to continually step up my game in the kitchen, as he has extremely high expectations. This is because the cooking of his mother and grandmother is legendary. So, I’m trying to learn and get better, and here is my journey.

Feedback, comments, questions, advice, links and input from real cooks and chefs are all extremely welcomed. I can use all of the help I can get!

Here is our girl George anxiously awaiting a nibble of chicken during the Christmas season.

Where is my darned chicken?

Here are the other two cats napping after a snack.

Sammy (she's always sleeping).

Sassy (if she's not yowling for a special treat, then she's also always sleeping).

Here is our new gas stove. The idea is that this will help make me a better cook. Of course, I bought new golf clubs in hopes it would make me a better golfer and that still hasn’t happened. Oh well.

Addition to the family -- a gas stove!

Here are a few pictures from hiking in Colorado. It is beautiful in Colorado, and I feel so lucky to live here!

A picture of Garden of the Gods, from inside the garden when hiking.

Taking a quick break during a hike.

And here is a picture from back home that reflects my love of a local Pennsylvania staple:

Scrapple on a stick at Musikfest in Pennsylvania. Yes, I love scrapple! It is one of the best foods ever created.

Hello fellow Denver food blogger! I am officially following your blog and have enjoyed reading the honest accounts of your kitchen adventures. In fact, I am waiting for my pizza dough to rise (great, easy recipe!!) as I type. Love it!
